What is Dermovate?

Dermovate is a steroid based cream used primarily to treat inflammations and skin irritations.  Dermovate cream is most commonly used for skin conditions such as Eczema and Psoriasis and can be used for various other skin conditions. The active ingredient in Dermovate is clobetasol propionate which is known as a topical corticosteroid.

Medication such as Dermovate reduce inflammation which can be caused when the body releases certain substances which can cause the skin irritation. These substances are known to affect the blood vessels causing the particular area to become red and swollen. When Dermovate is applied to the affected area it reduces the amount of irritable substances from being released, thus reducing the amount of redness and swelling. 

What is the recommended dosage?

• Apply to the affected area twice a day, as the condition improves reduce the use of the Dermovate cream immediately. 
• Make sure the skin is clean before applying the cream
• Wash your hands after applying the cream
• It is recommended not to use on large areas of the skin longer than the prescribed date.

Are there any side effects?

As with all medicines, each individual person reacts in a different way. Below are some common side effects for Dermovate Cream:

• Red and itchy skin
• Pigment patches on parts of the skin
• Thinning of the skin, making it easier to break
